After completing her psychology degree at the University of Pretoria, with the support of her mom, Lynette Stemmet, this YOU Spectacular award winner took a 2-year sabbatical in London. After a soul-searching discussion with herself about life’s difficulties and courage, she took the plunge and returned to good ol’ SA to pursue her acting dream.

Since the opportunity presented itself to her during her second year at the University of Pretoria Drama School, petite Angelique Gerber has become known to all of us as Clara, the Romanian love-refugee on the wildly popular Afrikaans SABC2 soapie, 7de Laan.

Angelique passed her Advanced Ballet Exams with the Royal Academy of Dancing (this is the highest level) in 2000 and also completed a stage fighting course (guns, swords, and fighting) as well as a presenting course with Shareen Swart in 2004.

Angelique was nominated as the Style Star for the 2010 G-Sport online and received the FAK award for best actress in 2001. Furthermore, she passed the Speech and Guild III Examination and received South African colors in Acro Gymnastics in 1996 and Sports Aerobics – 14th place in the world championships in Brussels in 2000.

Her other short film credits include: Die parkie movie, In die skadu van die donker, Die Trip, No signal, and Secret Book. Angelique’s theatre credits include; My fat friend, Macbeth, Mary’s Breast, Little Red Riding Hood, Horings, My reflection on the portrait of grief, My world of illusion, Tussen vier mure, The Sound of Music, and Annie.

Angelique’s film credits include; Gebore Talente, Mooi Rivier, Who’s my daddy?, Hartsbegeertes, 70×7, The Land of Milk and Money, and Dis Koue Kos, Skat!

Her TV credits include 7de Laan, Isidingo, Villa Rosa, Pasella, Mooi Loop, Boer soek ‘n Vrou, Angelique en Jnr. and Family Secrets.

Angelique is not only an actress but also a businesswoman and mother of three beautiful children. Despite her very busy schedule, she continues to pursue her career as an actress, presenter, motivational speaker, and ceremonies at many events while also managing her business ventures.
